Dr. George Attia

Dr. Attia is the director of UMIC and the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Miami. Dr. Attia completed his OB/GYN residency at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1997. He completed his Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, one of the most prestigious fellowship programs. In 2001, he became the IVF Director at the University of Texas and was able to build one of the most successful IVF programs. Dr. Attia also served as the president of the Dallas Infertility Society during his tenure at the University of Texas.

Dr. Attia has several publications in well-recognized journals. His research focuses on ovarian physiology and the regulation of ovarian hormone biosynthesis. He has received several prestigious awards for his research. Dr. Attia has been a guest speaker in many national and international meetings. Dr. Attia is Board-Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (F.A.C.O.G.).  

Dr. Arthur Shapiro

Dr. Shapiro graduated from Harvard Medical School (Boston), He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York Hospital/ Cornell Medical Center, (New York). Dr. Shapiro received his postdoctoral fellowship training (Population  Council, Rockefeller Foundation) at the Institute of Endocrinology, Tel Hashomer/Sheba Hospital, (Israel).

He has been a faculty member at the University of Miami School of Medicine since 1970 and presently holds the position of Clinical Professor. Before joining the University, Dr. Shapiro served for 8 years as Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, (Miami Beach) and was responsible for initiating and directing its IVF Center. He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (F.A.C.O.G.) and the American College of  Endocrinology (F.A.C.E.).  He has also been certified in Gyn Laser Surgery and Healthcare Management.
