Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

ICSI was developed in the 1990s to treat couple with severe male factor infertility. However, recently this procedure has extended to couples with unexplained infertility, poor fertilization or even in poor responder couples. During the process of ICSI, an embryologist isolate a single sperm cell, draw it up into a microscopic needle and inject it inside an egg using a high power microscope.
